The University of Victorias Ultimate Club has existed for the better part of 20 years. It was started in 1994 and has always had a competitive atmosphere. Since its resurgence in 2005, the UVic Ultimate club has become the primary spot for competitive ultimate on Vancouver Island. Ultimate at UVic is organized under four distinct entities:
The UVixens are an elite college womens team that competes in the Canadian university series in the fall and USAU college series in the spring. The UVixens currently boast a strong medley of homegrown college athletes, players from local club teams and even Canadian national team members. With dedicated coaches and a strong group of dedicated student athletes, the UVixens are always in the hunt in the nasty North West division.
The team travels to tournaments all over the West Coast even as far as Santa Barbara and sometimes ventures inland for the Canadian series. UVixens most recent success came at the 2012 Canadian University Ultimate Championship as they took down regional rival UBC to win the gold medal.

UVictim is the mens elite club team from UVic. Since 2005, UVictim has prided itself on its work ethic and determination. The current UVic team boasts a bevy of talent drawing from the Canadian national team, club teams such as Furious George, Blackfish and Skysharks, as well as recruiting from the University itself.
The team, often along side their female counterparts, travel the West Coast attending elite level college tournaments including Stanford, and even Vegas. In any given season, the squad will attend around five tournaments. UVictim is always looking for new players who want to come tryout for the team.

Both teams work with the Victoria Ultimate Players Society. VUPS puts on tournaments, hosts summer league play and even offers indoor ultimate in the winter and spring. The UVic Ultimate Club volunteers to help out at community events such as clinics and tournaments. UVic offers for some city players to join college practices to help increase the competition in Victoria.
Intramurals is another opportunity to join Ultimate at UVic. With two nights of recreational or competitive play, the intramural program at UVic is a great place to play for fun and get started in the sport. Whether you want to enjoy some quality co-ed ultimate or work on all your new throws, intramurals is a great place to start.
